Chanel Cruise 2013
In May, the Chanel Cruise 2013 collection was shown at the magical Château de Versailles, where designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld brought us feelings of eighteenth century opulence.
The show was exactly the kind of visual magic that Chanel runway shows are known for, with the long line up of models overtaking the gardens of Versailles. It was a breath taking experience.
If Marie Antoinette were around today, this would be her look. Pastels, mint, lavender, pink and light florals galore, there was no shortage of feminine flare. Modern, luxe and adorably cute, this collection would make you the envy of the resort.
In contrast, the men’s looks worn by top male models, including Brad Kroenig and Jon Kortajarena were more aligned with the peasantry than old French nobility. Jon K was even carrying a watering can, though Chanel quilted of course. But then again, let them eat cake.
The collection has now made its way to the Chanel showroom in New York.
