Some film star celebrities opted to hire a handbag for the Cannes Film Festival 2013.

Most of the bags on show were of course Chanel and the luxurious Dior but it seems to be something of a festival celebrating being filthy rich and beautiful as much as its a festival celebrating film, and most of the attendees and their mega-yachts and supermodel dates would make the average person feel like a pauper. So why would they hire – why not buy. Well it seems some understand the value of money and donate to charity, or they need us to help them quick.

Where you find that many famous people and that much excess, you’ll also find a bevy of insanely good handbags. Below, we’ve collected the best from both on and off the red carpets of the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival, and the spoils of the event are about as good as you’d expect. The south of France becomes global paparazzi central for a week or so every year, and everyone brought their best bags out to play.
